I first began my photographic career in Nassau, Bahamas working for Stuart Cove’s Dive Bahamas. I was a “Photo Pro” for Fin Photo, Stuart Cove’s on sight full service photo facility. My position as a Photo Pro allowed me to combine my joy of scuba diving with a hobby interest-taking photos. I would go out twice a day and take photographs of divers underwater and then sell the images or prints to them as a souvenir. In a very short time I became the manager of Fin Photo and had 4 other people working for me. This career advancement was my first step into the world of professional photography.
Over a span of 9 years as the manager of Fin Photo, I have had the opportunity to assist in the making of TV commercials, Magazine Ads, made for TV programs and Major Motion Pictures. My own photography has been printed in magazines such as Forbes and People Weekly, as well as the widely known scuba magazines such as Sport Diver and Skin Diver. Currently many of the tourist postcards sold in Stuart Cove’s retail boutique are photographs that I have taken.
In 2002 my husband and I decided we wanted to start a family, and we made the decision to move back to the states. Having moved away from taking photos underwater for a living, I found myself doing much more topside work, and realized that my photo career was shifting into a different direction. Ultimately I found myself utilizing my fantastic digital camera equipment to photograph those special moments that mean so much in peoples lives.
My number one goal is to capture and create breathtaking moments in your life by using a blend of photojournalistic style with traditional portrait poses. Creating the perfect balance of beautiful portraits and candid photographs will help to capture the story of your day in such a way that you will be able to treasure each moment for years to come.
